Not sure if it’s been mentioned elsewhere; but THQ wireless just shut down their San Diego office a few days ago.
Flu that didn’t hit you did it?
No, actually I’m not in the wireless biz (anymore for a long time). But we will get hit next week. I’m not immediately affected, but some will.
I’m thinking perhaps I should take a little more time in the recovery and stay on disability longer to ensure I recover. The thing is, I’m learning that there is no guarentees once you return from disability to still have a position. There is a remote possibility I need a followup surgery. And I was thinking, if I keep my disability short, and go back to work, and then for some reason need to take another disability for a followup surgery, I might not have that option if in between the hammer falls the wrong way. Not that I wouldn’t mind looking for another position, but I don’t think I would want to be in a spot where I go out on disability, come back and get axed, find another position, and then need to take another disability at the new position. That’s would sort of be a shitty thing to do at the next employer. Might as well take the entire time off to do both procedures. Time to read the disability benefits.
