I used to do that, combined with cheep-o paper sold @ Fry’s every few weeks. The color wears off quickly, five years old pictures are totally washed out. What’s your experience?

The paper is more important in terms of initial print quality. BUT, i don’t expect inkjet printed pictures to last longer than photos. But the nice thing is when they get all messed up, I just reprint them. Currently, my pictures hold up for about 5-6 years, with the ones that get exposed to some sunlight during the days.
