as for the blog’s recent hiatus. let it be known it was not trojan’s doing. I wrote that post in anger and deleted it within 5 minutes, but the power of the internet kept that alive. so be it.
true reason is I had a pretty intense exchange off line following a request for info on my purchase which I mistakenly supplied. after the exchange, there were obvious difference in opinion between me and the person involved. the person then revealed that he thought I should be sued.
so I’m now at this person’s mercy. he has since noted that he will not actively aid in exposing my identity. but knowing that this person has enough information to track me down, and knowing that he feels I should be sued, that is enough to bring the blog offline.
so regarding trojan’s statement that I should live by the sword and die by the sword. I did and that is why the blog is gone.
trojan’s demand that I reveal details has already tested water and the result was instant threat of litigation.
there’s no ground for it, but we all know we live in a society where the threat of lawsuit is the new wild west. where instead of pulling out a gun when two disagree, we pull out our cellphones to call the lawyer.
the blog was started and maintained always with one goal in mind, the serve the better good. I saw way too much displacement and misery created by the housing bubble in real life every single day. data are great, but I realized a lot of folks simple do not respond to numbers and graphs. real life stories and examples are what truly move people. and that’s why the blog went the direction it did.
yes, with each post, that particular homeowner maybe a bit unhappy that his or her public record is now in blog form. but if that help a husband or a wife out there convince his or her spouse that buying wasn’t right, then that was good enough for me.
so in the end, yes I was reckless in providing details to someone on e-mail. and that has caused a lot of inconvinience for readers that have come to rely on my blog and its links. that is THE biggest mistake in my blogging career over the last 3 years and it ultimately is THE nail in the coffin. my sincerest appologies to all of my loyal readers for that mistake.
