As to the carrier cuts – what about LEAP/Cricket?
Could see them actually pick up subscribers during these times – esp since they don’t require contracts/credit checks and have the most affordable unlimited, right?
Though I still don’t like them much 😉 I invested almost all of my money in them when I was 17. One day the stock just disappears and I got nothing for it.. then they somehow reissue and it went to $60 or something ;(
Tier 3 carriers are going to drop like flies. The problem is, a lot of these tier 3 are eating the costs on behalf of the customers, and a good portion of them still use tier 1 carrier’s infrasture. Virgin Mobile comes to mind. They run on Sprint networks. There was one on other industry where this was tried and failed….DSL…
Anyone remember the proliferation of DSL carriers back in 2003/04? Where are they now? That’s right. It was proven a business model for which you are built on top of infrastructure that belongs to someone you are competing with is not a winning business model….It was proven the only company that could win with DSL is the phone company. It’s just a matter of time when tier 3 cel carriers fold or get bought….
BTW: never EVER buy stock or work for a company that failed once, and came back with the same name and same business model for making money….Nextwave comes to mind. Shame of them for convincing you to belive in them the first time. Shame on you for fallening for them the second time in believing that they’ll get it right the second time.
