Actually the last three comments have all had excellent points. Though I agree with FLU most of all.
Either way the future looks grim but all of us here sound like we know how to bend with the breeze.
One of my best friends (who is brillant even among engineers) took the IT Detour. During the boon days he made millions of dollars (which he mostly spent on wine and racing cars). He tried many times to get me into DBA’ing Oracle. He was in the Bio-tech field and thier junior DBA’s make more than seniors in my field do. I have wondered many times what my life would be like in the IT world. But like I said C’est le Vie!
There was a Pimp in my nieghborhood in Las Vegas when I was growing up. He did very well and never was in trouble. Hmmmmm… I wonder how I would look in a purple velor hat….
