If the assets were earned by both of you, then you’re taking what’s not yours. That could be thought of as a kind of theft. It’s too bad about the relationship, but that’s not the issue here. It’s about the money. It doesnt pay to confuse your shared assets with your emotional issues. They’re different issues.
