Partypup I too am fascinated by the whole PUMA thing and little it’s been covered. One of the sites actually had people donating last minute funds to run anti-messiah ads in swing states.

Very good analysis here, and I think you are correct the tightening is occuring. Also you shed on a topic I hadn’t given much thought to, and that is the massive Hillary turnout when the race was considered all but over. Why would so many waste their time? I understand a few hardcore types doing it, but pulling upset wins?

I guarantee you if for some reason O loses, he is done with national politics. Weren’t there a couple of media types questioning at the time why Hillary won some of the last couple of primaries? They never really did go into it much or I should give us any depth on the topic. It’s been a big lovefest since the nomination but very little in the way of tough questions.

If I know the media like I think I do, they’ll start to grill him some from tomorrow until the inauguration. At some point he’ll have to take some stands that will either show him to the center-right like William Jefferson (Dick Morris years), or where I think he’ll govern from… the left. Remember he has to answer to the Howard Dean/Pelosi/Reid contingency who helped “steal this from Hillary” according to the PUMAs. He’ll have majorities in Congress, and the mandate will be said to govern from the left.
