I don’t think the Commission on Presidential Debates, which was formed by the Republican and Democratic parties, and the mainstream media will let that happen.

It might not happen right away, but if a 3rd party gets public funding, they’ll get more publicity, which in turn, will give them more votes. Hopefully, sooner rather than later, they’ll cross the 15% threshold that is need to participate in the debate.
