2) Backup plan in case U.S./China relations take the turn for the worse and we enter into a “cold war” with China. I’d rather not be shacked up in Chinese concentration camps or Guantanamo Bay (have we really learned?)
I believe in always preparing for the worst, and if it doesn’t happen, that’s one option you don’t need to execute on, versus having no options when you need them.
Canada is the only other country I could imagine living in, minus Quebec.
U.S. propensity to criticize other countries and try to impose our “values and policies” and China being U.S.’s creditor to me spells trouble down the road
