Rus: I don’t support torture because torture is WRONG. That’s about the long and short of it from my end.
As a soldier, I didn’t advocate torture; I didn’t make war on non-combatants and I didn’t engage in practices that I felt were morally wrong. Yes, it is difficult in wartime, but there is a clear line (at least to me) as to what is right and what is wrong.
Casca is certainly entitled to his opinions, and perhaps his background has yielded a different worldview than mine. God bless America, baby, that’s what dissent is all about.
I have to go now and wash my brown shirt and armband.
