The longest water fast I’ve done is 5 days, a while back now. I intend to get serious about regular long fasts in my 60s.

Wow.
Like a total reset.
I’m committed now to truly clean up my diet. Zero added sugar. Nothing processed. No white flour.
I can feel the autophagy clearing out my arteries (ok that might be in my head). I definitely can feel it helping with a periodontal issue. Sore tissue needs time to rest.

Extreme anything isn’t good for you. Even water.
January 5, 2023 at 5:09 PM #827230scaredyclassicParticipantQuestion: why do we have fat?

dunno, but stick a nipple on it and no-one’s complaining.tb
woke correction: no gynosexual is complaining.

Extreme is 3 meals a day, snacks at night, desserts, alcohol. Normal is extreme.
January 6, 2023 at 9:16 AM #827233teaboyParticipantafter you bore of this fasting novelty, you should crowdsource your next passionate-but-fleeting health fad with a quick survey here on piggington. I’d vote for you trying out daily ice baths for a month.
Would pair nicely with your new sauna. πtb

Funny you should mention ice baths. I was recently at the Nordic spa called Scandinave up in whistler Canada. Amazing place. Ice plunges and saunas in a perfect setting. Felt awesome.

A perfect retirement might center around coming here most days. In fact I’m thinking of heading back up there. They have ski lifts that can take you up for alpine meadow hiking. Added bonus: you can buy psychedelic mushrooms in stores in Vancouver Canada! So cheap! Favorable exchange rate

Yes. For some reason, the older I get, the more appealing an ice bath sounds.

Wouldn’t disagree with that. I think the human body is most efficient somewhere between what typical humans do now and a pure water diet.

Question: why do we have fat?[/quote]I’ve always heard it stores energy for periods when food sources are not available – I didn’t google search it to see if that has been disproven.
Perhaps your water diet doesn’t feel so bad because you are working through that fat reserve…
