ParticipantUni Heights isn’t so-so, it’s just urban.
So-so would be further east of 92116/103.

ParticipantSomething something never buy the nicest house on the block.

ParticipantFunny thing is, that IMHO is not even the nicest house. No view and the lot is too small. There are nicer places listing right now at lower PPSF.

ParticipantI used to live on that block and lived in University Heights for 4 or 5 years. I LOVED it there, but bought in Normal Heights six months ago because of the price per square foot.
For the few blocks around North Ave, 500-650 a square foot seems more reasonable, with the caveat that, for that price, you are likely getting a house pushing 100 years old with god knows what weird renovations and likely only 1 permitted bathroom.
If my budget was 1.7MM, I would sit on my hands until something came up in the Mission Cliffs Gardens area, North of Adams at the end of Park. (Actually, I might just start knocking on doors…) There are a few other really lovely pockets as well, including around Golden Gate to the west and Panorama to the east, but Mission Cliffs has the best access to Park. Of course, UH is one of the top 5 SD neighborhoods I’d spend my money in — if you aren’t sold on the area, the math probably wouldn’t work.

ParticipantI think that house should be on the Countering Disinformation And Propaganda Act thread.

ParticipantWith $1.7 million you could buy in La Jolla.

ParticipantAnd be around La Jolla “people?” Better to buy in PB or OB.

ParticipantWhat’s wrong with La Jolla people?
