Would appreciate comments on Chantemar area of Scripps Ranch (South of Pomerado to be precise). This area has a mix of old (late 80s) and new houses. Some of the old houses have good upgrades… The HOA includes Pool/Tennis courts. There are no parks here but apparently a new plan was drawn up early this year near the 40 new homes that were built by Ryland Homes (I think!) as we drive up on Fairbrook Rd..
I like that area, too. When we were looking for a home 5 years ago, I seem to recall some chatter on this board about some of the homes being uninsurable due to prior fires in that area. (I never independently verified it, though.) However, this area was heavily affected by the 2003 fires. In fact, I think that some of the newer homes that you mention are the ones that were rebuilt after that fire.
