Wow I might have to vote for trump
October 27, 2016 at 4:42 AM #802685moneymakerParticipantI always thought of Michael Moore as a Democrat, he is definitely convincing however the middle class is still fucked unfortunately.
October 27, 2016 at 8:35 AM #802691CA renterParticipantYep. I’ve been telling people that if Bernie didn’t make it past Clinton’s firewall, Trump would win in November. We were hitting the streets for Bernie over the past 1+ year, and it was very clear that there were two candidates who were fueling the the passions of Americans from all walks of life — Bernie and Trump. We rarely ever saw or heard from Hillary supporters, and we were working in every type of neighborhood. To be sure, she was more popular in the higher-end neighborhoods than in the poorer and middle-class communities, but she was largely unpopular across the board.

We’ll see about that…
The polls are consistently showing a massive disparity between Clinton and Trump among Blacks and Hispanics – many polls are saying that Trump will effectively get no vote from African Americans.
He’s not popular with women either:
If Trump did win, the outcome will be determined predominantly by white males.
Let’s hope we get a president with a broader mandate.

I really can’t see how Trump can win when his appeal is to such a small minority of people. Yes you are correct that he creates very strong reactions one way or the other, but his chances to win are slim to none. The only scenario I could see him winning is if it was a tight race between 3 or more candidates. I think he has a strong appeal to 25%-35% of the population (predominately white, male, lower-middle class) who will make it in droves to the voting booths. However the rest of America loathes him.

LOL I was saying the same thing.
I am staging my own personal revolt by writing in Bernie.October 27, 2016 at 1:32 PM #802700livinincaliParticipant

Yep. I’ve been telling people that if Bernie didn’t make it past Clinton’s firewall, Trump would win in November.
Trump’s appeal isn’t the right way of looking at this election. Hillary’s appeal is rather low as well. This election comes down to how the people that don’t really like either candidate vote or don’t vote for them. I think Hillary will probably win. She’ll possibly win big if voter turnout is good, but I don’t think voter turnout is going to be very good. Trump’s path to victory is low voter turnout. Are the disenfranchised Black and Hispanic voter who tend to vote at polling places going to show up and possibly wait in line to vote for Hillary. They did enthusiastically for Obama but I don’t really see it for Hillary.
October 27, 2016 at 2:22 PM #802703scaredyclassicParticipantif we can compel citizens to pay taxes, and perform jury service, and register for the draft, why cant we compel them to vote?

October 27, 2016 at 5:06 PM #802707CardiffBaseballParticipantI have seen at least two articles now talking about the massive support he seems to be getting in my home area, Youngstown, Ohio.
When I grew up, even if you were conservative you registered Democrat if nothing else to have some say-so in the primary process. Yet Trump kicked the ass of John Kasich in that part of Ohio during the primary even though Kasich won the state. Trump as 2nd place finisher, received more votes than the winner. Trump’s 35% 2nd place finish was good for 727,500 to Kasich’s 956,750 (Approx) or close to 47%. Hillary took Ohio with 679,000 to 513,500 for Bernie.
Keeping in mind Trump could very easily flip Ohio, NC and FLA I’m really surprised the amateur political scientists on here, are not at least a little concerned. He was a distant 2nd and still got a lot more votes. I am looking at some professor’s model who predicts races based on contested primaries, early in the race to see where the passion and energy is. I don’t know how his predictor works during say 2012 where Obama was unopposed. My guess is his model is only worth a damn in years like this.
In any case I can’t see how anyone on either side can spike footballs at this point. You could literally see this come down to something like Nevada, Colorado, etc.
I’m wondering if that NeoCon leading Utah will end up winning that state. While this year is ugly as hell I’ve also had more fun than I’ve ever had. Happenings all the time. Wikileaks, Guccifer, Guccifer 2.0, Private recordings, strange alliances. Thoroughly entertaining.
October 27, 2016 at 5:40 PM #802709FlyerInHiGuestTrump did not transform America. He revealed the true nature of 40% of the population. Enable the deplorables at your own peril. You enable them, you own them.

When all is said and done, it WILL come down to NV and CO. I feel Trump will take NV but not so sure about CO, which has morphed into a different animal since they went 420 crazy and all its attendant millenials moved in to take advantage of that on a daily basis :=0
Yes, McMullin may very well win UT, which wouldn’t be good for Trump. I have my wikileaks pages bookmarked and they are very entertaining, yes …. but I am mostly impressed by the Project Veritas videotapes. They remind me of a bygone era in my life. That’s all I’m going to say except for “Hail to James O’Keefe” for all the good work he’s contributing to educating society! His plant(s) were absolute geniuses!
October 27, 2016 at 9:02 PM #802713La Jolla RenterParticipantSeems like he positioned his rant to get taken out of context.
Am I the only one that finds Michael Moore and his 50M net worth and 9 houses a tad hypocritical?

You’re right BG, James O’Keefe is an example of the highest standards of integrity among journalists. He’s done so much quality work an we are all better educated for it.
One of his best peices on Projet Veritas is Teachers Union Gone Wild where he exposes the absurdities of public teacher unions. It a great piece where “the moral and ethical vacancy of union culture was put on on display”:
http://projectveritas.com/teachers-union-gone-wild/
An often drunk chorus of NJEA leaders were captured on hidden camera mocking the education system and the absurd protections afforded to them by their union status.
Hail to James O’Keefe!
