short Trump, if possible
August 11, 2016 at 8:11 AM #800499La Jolla RenterParticipantClue number one you are not onto something… Washington Post?
Maybe people are just not checking in because they don’t want their bully lib friends to rip into them on facebook.
Even if it is true. It is just as likely his brand will come back stronger down the road, regardless of the election outcome.
August 11, 2016 at 8:35 AM #800500AnonymousGuestAmong school-age kids, the Trump name has become a punchline. That can’t be good for a brand in the long term.
August 11, 2016 at 9:24 AM #800504FlyerInHiGuestWashington Post is middle the road to me. It’s fine if you want to argue it’s leftist, but that would only be by your standards.
I’ve been to Trump Las Vegas and he doesn’t even own it. The Trump properties in Atlantic City when he was involved were trash as is Atlantic City as a whole.
I was kinda excited with the renovation of the post office in DC because I like historic buildings. But now I wouldn’t spend my money there.
Time will tell, but I doubt the Trump brand will survive the man.

[/quote]Given that Trump’s entire campaign (and for that matter worldview) is based on bullying, I guess I’m not that sympathetic.
August 11, 2016 at 11:40 AM #800513Rich ToscanoKeymasterI remember when Trump first announced with his “Mexican rapists” speech, and Macy’s announced they’d no longer sell his clothing line, I was surprised that he had a clothing line at all. Even before I learned that he’s a bullying wanna-be fascist who can’t spell, I always thought of him as the epitome of gaudy tastelessness. I mean, have you seen his apartment? It looks like Liberace huffed gold paint and threw up all over Tsar Nicholas II’s summer home.
I couldn’t imagine wearing a garment with his name on it, and that was before learning what a truly despicable person he is. Now that I know that, even if he had a business that appealed to me (which he doesn’t because I’m not a fan of cheesy faux-opulence) I would never do business with it, just on principle.
So no, I wouldn’t support a Trump business… I’d go very far out of my way to avoid it. I’m quite certain that I’m not alone.

Why would anyone want a bully as a friend???
August 11, 2016 at 5:10 PM #800517svelteParticipantI’ve never considered buying anything Trump, watching anything Trump, or spending money in anything Trump ever. His campaign has simply reinforced my original course.
I remember a few months ago he claimed he had his pulse on the public because he listened to people at his rallies. Uh, no, you have your pulse on your supporters. That does not equate to the public. His poll numbers show I’m closer to being correct than he is.
August 11, 2016 at 5:20 PM #800519La Jolla RenterParticipantCome on, you don’t have any friends that bully at times? Maybe even some on this site perhaps???
I have a few. I admit it, I would prefer to surf a crowded break with my buddy that is a bully in the water than with the ones who aren’t. He bullies the bullies in a line up.

Funny thing is, almost visible from the view in Trumps penthouse are the room displays in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. One of them is a fantastic Frank Lloyd Wright living room…just awesome. Then Trump builds that overwrought monstrosity just a few blocks away.
True it would have been odd for Trump to do a Prairie House living room in a modern design tower, but I would have hoped that a glimpse of good design would have encourage him to do similar good design in his place…especially considering how much he spent.

It looked like they did not count the Red States… Just the blue and … purple? Though they claim all of US, I have doubts considering that the blue states and ‘all’ of the US have about equal behavior. -
