Great post.
December 5, 2015 at 5:33 PM #792080flyerParticipantAnother good post, svelte, but I guess it’s just too tempting to feed them. It’s kind of like watching a disaster happening right before your very eyes. You know it’s not going to end well–you want to look away–but, somehow–you just can’t. That said, thanks for the reminder.
December 5, 2015 at 5:36 PM #792082XBoxBoyParticipantWe need a poll… Who was the most annoying pigg troll? I’m not good with names but we’ve had some real doozies on this board.
December 5, 2015 at 5:47 PM #792086CoronitaParticipantvote for me, vote for me!!!!
December 5, 2015 at 6:21 PM #792092flyerParticipantSorry, flu, I think most Piggs would agree you just don’t have enough “Trollistic” qualities to win. You’re too smart, make too much sense, know exactly what you’re talking about, support it with solid data, and I could go on and on.
Better luck next time–Troll Wannabe.
December 5, 2015 at 8:11 PM #792107njtosdParticipantAs an alternative, we could have threads devoted to each area (both CVs, Mira Mesa, etc.) and simply let the posters either read or post their opinions there. I have a hard time believing that people join the board just to be jerks, but I do think there are a lot of people out there who are mad that they can’t afford what they want in SD. I remember when we looked for our first house here (’97) it was an eye opening experience. My husband was convinced he wanted to live west of the 5. The junk that we looked at was so depressing . . . you have to adjust your expectations, but there is no point in being rude.
December 5, 2015 at 8:34 PM #792111ltsdddParticipant
but the best way to get rid of them? Don’t talk to them! .
Excellent advice….except, most people just love to hear themselves talking…..and some like a effing broken record that repeats the same sh!t over and over again.
December 6, 2015 at 6:14 AM #792112flyerParticipantIn these cases, after a certain point, I think all you can do is wish someone the best and let it go. Life on earth is short, so, hopefully, they will somehow find what they are looking for before it all passes them by.
December 9, 2015 at 11:08 PM #792411yuhteyParticipantARRRRRRRR! it’s the big bad troll. here to troll ye. ARRRRRR.
flyer, you condescending bastard, you.
December 10, 2015 at 5:33 AM #792414flyerParticipantThere’s so much I could say–and it’s so tempting–but I promised myself I would not, from here to infinity, beyond the blue horizon, or until the cows come home ever again feed the trolls–done. Whew! that was close.
December 10, 2015 at 7:12 AM #792417no_such_realityParticipantSo much stuff makes me wonder if it’s
1. Real and actual viewpoint
2. Over the top rhetoric on a basic idea
3 a plant like the Claremont prof 10 years ago spray painting her own car then blowing the hate crime alarm
4. TrollI do see a difference between 3 & 4 and sadly think 3 is becoming a more commonly used tactic.
December 11, 2015 at 6:31 AM #792450yuhteyParticipanti wonder what’s the real troll-ishness, my views or the people who recommend temecula, chula juana, clan tee, and so on.
or the the high-road takers like flyer who are just too darn good at life.
don’t forget the default: you can’t afford it!
December 11, 2015 at 2:07 PM #792477(former)FormerSanDieganParticipantI think feeding the trolls is quite useful. It’s particularly interesting to get insight into the mind of such people from a psychological perspective.
It also probably saves lives, since they are venting their frustration on a blog instead of doing actual damage in the real world.
