Sandicor runs the MLS according to rules set forth by SDAR. Sandicor has always been pretty good about allowing MLS to all realtors big and small here in San Diego so this ruling will not affect San Diego.
The new safe mls technology that you are referring to is a sad fact. The FOB simply provides a secure key to get in. It is pretty much an RSA based system, (I believe) and it is the way things will be now. This is how the association will limit mls passwords being distributed and multiple users on a given password. It also pretty much forces more people to join the association in order to get MLS access. I have heard of some brokerages with many agents all using a single login.
