I agree. Very sad.
I had no idea that I’d been listening to re-runs for the past 2 years, because they’d retired.
That guy had an infectious laugh.
Don’t drive like my brother!

Didn’t know that he had Alzheimer’s. 77 is a young age to die. What the heck is complication from Alzheimer’s?

One of the physical symptoms that can happen with dementia is the mind forgets some of the involuntary/subconscious things… Including the swallow reflex. It’s not unusual for folks with dementia to get pneumonia from aspirated fluid (spit) that they didn’t swallow. That’s just one of the possible physical side effects.November 7, 2014 at 9:26 AM #779912SD TransplantParticipantI loved these guys. One of the best radio shows. A huge loss π

November 7, 2014 at 10:44 AM #779919FlyerInHiGuestYeah, too bad. They were really funny.
Thanks for the explanation, UCGal. Alzheimer’s set in pretty fast. He passed away within 2-3 years of retiring from the show.
One of my relatives had Alzheimer’s for about 10 years before dying at around 95. She was fine but had bouts of anger. She would get angry at her caretakers and accuse them of stealing her jewelry and underwear. She thought she was 35 and kept asking when her husband would come home.
November 8, 2014 at 5:18 PM #779939JerseyGrlParticipantI miss that show. I had the pleasure of being on the show several years ago. They laughed through the whole thing. Seems like all we did was laugh.I told them about wisps of smoke that would come from my steering column (Chevy Lumina/company car). They cracked up and said “where there’s smoke there’s fire”. They had no idea what the problem was but we had a lot of fun anyway.
