Meanwhile, the Antarctic ice continues to grow!
And low and behold, the Global Warmers site that as further evidence of their theory. WTF?
It all reminds me of Crack Babies.
Remember when the media couldn’t shut up about the crack epidemic in the early 1980s and said we were about to be overrun with crack babies so screwed up that the future of civilization was in peril?
Funny how that turned out to be a mirage.
Now we have a new “The End Is Near” banner to wave. I just wished folks would quit using “Global Warming” and “Man-induced Climate Change” interchangeably. They are not one and the same.
Can’t wait to see what “The End Is Near” scare is next…

September 24, 2014 at 6:22 AM #778252livinincaliParticipantI honestly don’t know don’t know how much if any man induced climate change is occurring. I do know that the proposed solution of carbon tax credits is just another scam by the financial industry looking to trade and skim money from the transaction of those credits. I also know it will increase our energy bills. I do think thorium nuclear from coal is the best energy solution until we figure out fusion. Unfortunately it looks like we’re intent on covering a significant portion of the mohave desert with solar thermal. It will work, I just don’t think it’s optimal.

Wish nuclear industry would enlist more outreach to educate people of the safe benefits of this technology. Especially to the enviro folks. Answers all of their concerns.

that article you linked says the growing sea ice is linked to human activity also.
I kind of think we are affecting the planet.
I kind of feel like maybe we should do smething.
September 24, 2014 at 12:41 PM #778262FlyerInHiGuestI don’t know…. people have told me that back in the 1970s and 1980s there was no need for AC in San Diego. Even upscale houses in La Jolla didn’t have AC.

Looks like it was hotter on average back in 1970’s and 1980’s. Carry with the anecdotal evidence though.
September 24, 2014 at 2:54 PM #778265FlyerInHiGuestI knew someone would bring historical data which I was too lazy to look up…. Feel free to talk the old time San Diegans.
Maybe, in the past, people’s tolerances for having no AC was higher because they didn’t expect all the modernities we expect today.

It was during Thanksgiving, we were parked overnight in the Mission Bay parking area (overnight parking was legal then). I remember it because it was very hot and humid at night. Very uncomfortable. It was in the early-mid 1970s. I started attending UCSD 1979/1980. The dorms @ Revelle were very warm in September (warm and humid).
In general, there is no AC needed for Coastal San Diego. The only exception is a period of about 3 months. It has been that way for a long time, and is still that way along the Coast.

Try Google. It really is not that hard to use.

Take a look at the images shown by Google… one of them should look familiar. Click that link, go down about 5 links to “SAN DIEGO ANNUAL MEAN TEMPERATURE HISTORY (1875-2013)” and select… -
