Did you see any while on your hike?
I almost stepped on one while hiking many years ago. Scared the hell out of me. Thankfully, it skittered away pretty quickly, but definitely not a fun experience.
Two. It’s snakey out there.

I killed a big one last week. I don’t like to kill them but my dog has been bitten twice. Not going to relocate them.

Russ, I just heard from a friend a couple of weeks ago that they get their dogs trained to avoid rattlesnakes. They live in a rural setting, too, and have quite a few rattlesnakes around their house. If you want the info, let me know.
I just won some rattle gaiters on ebay! I’m gonna do a 20 mile hike up that mountain once a month until I can’t any longer. In my gaiters with a knife for lion attacks.
