As every married man knows, buying a house and being pissed is better than dealing with the wife constantly nagging us to buy. 😉
Bottom line is happy wife does lead to a happy life…
Nearly every guy I know seems more “laid back” than the wives in general. I really think it’s just how men are vs. women. Not good or bad, but how men and women are wired differently and where their life concerns are.
February 24, 2014 at 6:16 PM #771220scaredyclassicParticipantI mean sheeesh if this guy can’t tell his wife he knows better what hope is there for the rest of us? She probably has the inside track on every dopey move he’s made his entire life.
No one is an expert in their hometown as the saying goes.
February 24, 2014 at 7:40 PM #771223SD RealtorParticipantI don’t know scaredy… the guy is married man just like you and me and others. I bet ya 10 bucks he actually did tell his wife what he thought the market was gonna do and you know what? She probably said she didnt give a sh-t. Obviously the guy has a decent job and makes good money.
Looking back at the timing of the purchase, depending on where they bought, they may have very well caught the very bottom of the trough and are actually doing really well.
I recall when you were making the decision to purchase and correct me if I am wrong, you, (like me and most other men) were “incentivized” to buy by our wives correct? I can say with all honesty that many of the purchases my younger family clients make are done in the name of family harmony.
More often then not, “knowing better” really doesnt matter.
February 24, 2014 at 7:49 PM #771224scaredyclassicParticipantArticle implies mishkin buy was jan. 08 and “bad timing”.
I was afraid i would never be allowed a moments peace and that i woild bear the blame for all of lifes inevitable miseries if i did not move us promptly into a mortgaged structure.
my wife believes without women, men would be wallowing in filth and never getting anywhere

Well yeah I also bet he tried to tell her, but I meant tell her with the imprimatur of his August position with some authority that she would of course respect and defer to.
February 24, 2014 at 7:53 PM #771226scaredyclassicParticipantFortunately we have moved on to other less weighty squabbles.
But this was big. The feeling was that I was somehow holding back the progress of happiness in life by eschewing a mortgage.
Maybe I could buy Mish kin a beer and commiserate

PRICELESS.
February 24, 2014 at 8:23 PM #771228scaredyclassicParticipantHer image of where I would be alone is quite a bit more colorful and involves farting, sleeping on a couch in my clotjing, lots of empty pizza boxes, excessive drinking and a tub so filthy it appears to be some sort of ancient pottery.
I wonder…she may not be far off.
I’m pretty sure I couldn’t have remained employed without a family. Me and mishkin, we are brothers in matrimony: we need Her to goad us into action. A man alone without the pressing demands of family can be a sad creature.

True that Scaredy… true that.
February 24, 2014 at 9:04 PM #771231scaredyclassicParticipanta man is nothing but dreams and stale air and the mistaken sense that he has all the time in the world. while a woman is rooted to the earth, she bleeds, she knows time is running out. nothign make a guy more real more fast than a wife and children.
i think this is why it is highly unlikely wed ever elect a bachelor president.
i think a married asian woman witha green card might beat him in the polls, if the natural born requirement is waived..
but what about pres. buchanan….

I used to keep my bathrooms so clean my ex once asked me if I was gay!
It took getting married for me not to keep them spic and span…
CE
February 25, 2014 at 7:11 AM #771238scaredyclassicParticipanti wasn’t sitting in the tub. I mean. the point is for the dirt to come off. it’s got to come off somewhere. you could always wear flip flops.
all right all right i’ll clean the shower…
but seriously, why cant we just eat off pizza cartons, take out containers and the occasional paperplate? we could save so much time on dishes.
why do we need our own house and everything. we could just rent and move around, like wandering cavemen….if the cave gets too filthy, we just find another cave
all right all right…we’ll find our own “nice” cave and keep it clean…
February 25, 2014 at 7:22 AM #771241matulaParticipantYeah, I bought my second house because of my wife’s constant pining on a bigger house. Luckily we bought near the bottom by accident.
