Thanks for the slippery slope post. I kept thinking, but didn’t post, “slippery slope! slippery slope!” as certain arguments were presented. You explained that nicely.
I also agree that this is a basic civil rights issue, not a religious issue. I will vote along these lines, I will raise my child to believe that all are entitled to such rights, and I will contribute to the community in such a way as to hopefully ensure a future where these rights are granted to all.
It makes me profoundly sad to think of this country continuing to be a place where two adults can’t choose to be legally joined. My hope for those that disagree would be that you could simply allow others to live and let live, and that definitely means that they be allowed to marry. You don’t have to like it, but legally, they should be entitled to it. I don’t have anything more profound than that to say, and others have said it better than I could, anyway.
