I too also found Costco meets are far better in quality comparing to the Asian markets. I avoid meats at Ranch 99 and only buy veggies and fresh swimming fish there.

If you want to shop at a clean Asian market in SD, then try Seafood City in Mira Mesa. The place looks much cleaner than Ranch 99 or Lucky Seafood (another Asian market within the area).
