So sorry, flu. 🙁
Is it the drinking of that massive amount of nasty-tasting sea water that’s bumming you out, or the effects of it?
Good luck with your colonoscopy tomorrow. Keeping fingers crossed for you.

After my procedure I was so high all the nurses were laughing at me. I insisted I never went out during the procedure and totally lost track of time and what was going on.

I do one every year. The lemonade diet is the part that I hate the most… I don’t mind the rest… Actually, I’m probably the only one that requests to be conscious while they do it so I can watch the video and see all the polyps they take out and make sure they don’t miss any (well, until they do the upper one down my throat…Then I want them to knock me out)…
But the coolest thing is they make me swallow a pill camera so they can take a pictures of the small intestine….I believe the pill camera is a $900 a pop…Last time I dropped it on the floor before swallowing it and broke it…Oops…
January 8, 2013 at 8:33 PM #757360scaredyclassicParticipantI’ll take the drugs please.
i don’t think I could watch.
i would have no problem watching someone else’s.
January 8, 2013 at 10:09 PM #757361bearishgurlParticipantI wish you all the best, flu. Just be VERY glad they exist.
I’ve had three and will agree that they’re not fun … Actually, it now being 2013 makes it time to schedule exam number four pretty soon, ugh. My ins co will pay for one every three years, due to family history and they’re not cheap in SD ($1000-$1400).
January 9, 2013 at 8:36 AM #757365desmondParticipantI have only had one and was clean and have another year before I need another. But, yea, doing it every year would suck and the pill camera, forget it…btw, my brother-in-law ended up passed out in his driveway and they found out his lower intestine was fused (?) to his stomach? He is now in the hospital. Appreciate you health.
January 9, 2013 at 8:42 AM #757366UCGalParticipantHopefully you’re all done as I type this.
The prep is FAR worse than the procedure.
I have kaiser permanente and they insist on giving me colaid (sp?) for the prep – a gallon of nasty tasty fluid that tastes like sweat. Friends with other insurance have been lucky enough to get little 8 oz bottles of sweet stuff.
I’m on the 5 year schedule – which is bad enough. (Polyps found and removed 10 years ago). Better safe than sorry.
January 9, 2013 at 8:49 AM #757367no_such_realityParticipantUgh, sorry to hear it people. Hope all goes well. Haven’t had one, hoping not to need one for a while.
Frankly, I’d love to watch, but I’d opt to go out. It’s kind of like the Dentist. Even if you can’t really feel it, the whirrrrr-ktch sound tells the conscious part of the brain that ‘that’ probably hurt.
January 9, 2013 at 9:27 AM #757368NicMMParticipantI have no idea what it is, but it sounds not fun.
Hope all goes well.January 9, 2013 at 1:09 PM #757372cvmomParticipantYou’re reminding me, it’s time for mine too. Better get that scheduled, ugh. I agree, the prep is WAY worse than the procedure. Blech
January 9, 2013 at 2:37 PM #757377CoronitaParticipantWell I got back just now. Stayed awake for the lower endoscopy. Was asking questions about the polyps as they were removing them. Not too bad….They wanted to do a ultrasound for the upper endoscopy. Unfortunately, I couldn’t stay awake for that one, because I would have gagged with the scope down my throat….Darn…
