yes.
Way to early in a relationship to be talking about money.
April 11, 2012 at 2:39 PM #741482AnonymousGuestIt all sounded completely legitimate up until the “only have sex after marriage part.”
Seriously, this is absolutely, positively a scam.
And here’s how it will play out: Many people will warn him, he will do it anyway, she will suddenly disappear, he will still cling to hope that it wasn’t really a scam…
After a long while and strained relationships with the friends who tried to warn him, he will finally accept that he has been duped.
There’s still a small chance he can be saved. Make him watch every episode of this show, ASAP:

Some people will do anything, for money.
PS: If he can score some sex from this without losing a dime, he wins!
April 11, 2012 at 2:56 PM #741483ocrenterParticipantIs she from Nigeria and does she want him to Western Union the money to her?
April 11, 2012 at 3:32 PM #741488EmilyHicksParticipantNo, they actually met in person and went to Disneyland, Universal Studio (her choice of places)…Which to me is very weird since they are both around 30.
April 11, 2012 at 3:45 PM #741489ocrenterParticipantsounds like a scam even with the dates.
your friend’s money policy should be the same as the girl’s sex policy: I only purchase properties with a girl after marriage.
April 11, 2012 at 3:51 PM #741491daveljParticipantYour friend must do this transaction… in the interest of my personal entertainment. Please encourage him.
And if on the off chance that it turns out to be legit (hey, there’s always some miniscule chance, right?), then more power to the Foreclosure Virgin Power Couple.
April 11, 2012 at 3:54 PM #741490HobieParticipantHave him tell her the money is locked up in a special trust with his attorney. See how fast she breaks it off π
I like ocrenters policy too π virgin at 30 ! riiiight.
April 11, 2012 at 4:33 PM #741494(former)FormerSanDieganParticipantHe should call her bluff and propose to elope to Vegas and get married. If she still doesn’t sleep with him after they are married, it’s a scam.
BTW, how did they meet on-line ? Was it a real estate site, a dating site or something else ?
April 12, 2012 at 3:01 AM #741514CA renterParticipantAs much as I hate to admit this, I agree 100% with Pri.
I don’t think it’s odd for a beautiful girl to try to find love on the internet, but the “virgin at 30” part seems off. Couple that with the “wants him to buy $300K worth of foreclosure properties” part and the red flags start flying all around this one.
IMHO, this girl is big-time trouble. Good luck convincing your friend, though. Beautiful girls have a way of making perfectly intelligent men do painfully stupid things.
April 12, 2012 at 3:10 AM #741515outtamojoParticipantWhat’s he doin’ tellin everybody he’s got $300K cash?
April 12, 2012 at 7:01 AM #741519EmilyHicksParticipantMy friend likes to talk about this money (as his own money) and I think it is to make up for his severe underemployment as he is working as a machinist despite having a Master degree. More than half of this money is not even his, it is his father’s retirement money.
So here you have a gorgeous looking girl with supposedly very high income going for a short, average looking guy who is underemployed for the last 7 years. She has no friend. Only one “brother” which my friend met at a restaurant. I told him something doesn’t seem right and he shouldn’t invest in this deal. Hope he is bright enough to see it through.

The fact he’s asking you… He’s not trying to get you persuade him. He already made up his mind. He just was hoping you would say something to back him up.
I’m sorry, if it sounds too good to be true it’s too good to be true. It’s not about that she’s a 30yr virgin, or that supposedly that she is pretty.
If she really is so successful, why is the scaping other people’s money? She should have sufficient funds to make her own money. And if she’s so good at it, why would anyone in their right mind want to share their profits with a random stranger that they met for 4 weeks…Hell, if I could hat-trick a few hundred thousand in deals like that, I definitely wouldn’t want to share it with anyone else unless I had too (IE had to borrow it or partner with someone)…Very very very few people do things with money out of the goodness of their hearts. And the fact the broad is asking for an “investment”… it’s obvious.
And this might sound a little harsh. But if all he wants is a fling with a pretty woman and nothing more, perhaps he should just pay for it directly rather than go this long convoluted route… I mean at least the “cost” is explicitly spelled out upfront (and quite frankly a lot cheaper).
And speaking of high income. sure… Madoff and Stanford I’m pretty sure showed they had pretty high incomes too.. This woman probably has her high income from the money she milked from the previous sucker…
Some men + pretty women = dumbasses.
You really want to do your friend a favor…Show him this thread. Because obviously he’s long gone thinking with the head that’s down there instead of the one up there.
