The Washington Times is a truly terrible “news” “source”. I would note that slightly expanding the authority of local law enforcement might be something you disagree with and could be a bad idea, but it’s not an impeachable offense.

Well the information is fact, even if you don’t like the source. There’s a million more sources. Do you think they won’t start doing it if they have a chance? Drones are getting cheaper and cheaper. Don’t be naive, should he be impeached for signing the NDAA?
February 9, 2012 at 6:45 PM #737665no_such_realityParticipantLOL gradstudent, apparently you’ve been under rock.
The NYC police chief was bragging to the media about having helicopters armed with 50 cal machine guns.
University police departments are posing for the cameras before pepper spraying the Occupy protest sit in.
New Mexico mowed down a young war vet after busting down his door, six officers put 80 bullets in him in under a minute.
Fullerton police officers allegedly (pay no attention to the video) beat a homeless schizophrentic to death while he cried out please stop I’m not resisting and bus riders watched in horror. They then allegedly tried to confiscate the phones with cameras.
Yep, just a minor expansion of their efforts, nothing to worry about.

Absolutely.
And I can’t imagine anyone voting for someone who is systematically destroying the constitution.
The MSM/establishment have attacked Ron Paul; but for anyone who loves Freedom Ron Paul is the only choice.

February 12, 2012 at 4:32 AM #737767CA renterParticipantIt’s comments like this that should get everyone riled up:
“Representatives of the fast-growing unmanned aircraft systems industry say they worked hard to get the provisions into law.”

How much money/how many promises were made (bribes) to make this happen?
How much of our tax money is diverted to things like this? This is what we should be targeting WRT governmental reforms. Bribery is alive and well, and I think we’re at a point where people don’t even try to hide it anymore.
Anyway, I think people have been conditioned to disregard privacy rights. With Facebook, Twitter, and other forms of “social media” being promoted the way they’ve been, I think it’s all part of a much larger picture. People better wake up…fast.

There may be a day we aren’t allowed to stand up like this in the future. That is going to be a scary day. It should scare the crap out of the people who vote for Obama or Romney.

Officials say the fast-growing union spent $85 million during the campaign season last year, and that it was well worth it: The Obama administration has appointed union officials to top posts and is backing legislation to make it easier for workers to organize.“SEIU is on the field, it’s in the White House, it’s in the administration,” SEIU President Andy Stern said in a video to members to mark the Obama administration’s first 100 days.[/Quote]

Unions are nowhere near the big spenders you seem to think they are. It might help explain why the “anti-union” propaganda spewed by the corporatists/capitalists has been gaining so much strength.
Know where you stand.
February 13, 2012 at 8:46 PM #737928ArrayaParticipantMore PROFITABLE “terrorist” preventing measures that come, coincidentally and conveniently , at a time when revolutionary urges or as James Madison wrote “Leveling impulses”start stirring.
As an aside, Drones are seducing the ruling class with a sense of invulnerability, which can be believed only by turning a blind eye to long-term consequences.
When an Afghani’s entire family disappears in a fireball that errupts at his uncle’s funeral, he will not simply accept the omnipotence of his overlords. He will fight back. But it makes no sense to fight a drone; it will not make any difference whatsoever if a drone is destroyed. A drone is soulless, it has no family, it does not bleed, it does not hurt. The target of his hatred will be Americans, where they live.
The only rational response to a drone attack is to blow some one or some thing up — somewhere far away from the scene of the attack. Escalated terrorism is the rational response to drone attacks, and drone attacks will be the response to terrorism.
There are some who see no problem with this, and they are the ones benefiting from “terrorism” fighting measures that double as uprising prevention .
