    I have a GE Spectra electric slide in oven and cook top. The unit itself is about 8 years old, but it’s only had about one year of actual use. It takes about 25 minutes for the oven to heat to 450 degrees Fahrenheit, and getting lightweight pots to warm up on the cook top takes a long time too. My old house had an electric wall oven that was about 15 years old and warmed up very fast (7 minutes to get to 400 degrees). Perhaps wall oven warm up fast, I don’t know. How long do your electric slide-in ovens take to warm-up (preheat)?

    We have a 15 year old Kenmore electric wall oven. It preheats to 450 in under 10 minutes,,, even with a pizza stone in there.

    We have a $3K Bosch slide in double oven that is 4 years old. Just asked my wife, she said it takes about 20 min to hit 450, even on “fast pre-heat”.

    She is very unhappy with that aspect of the oven…having lived with gas for the last 20 years, she will probably end up making me run a gas line in for the oven should we ever buy another.

    I have a 1927 Glenwood Insulated gas range retrofitted for propane. I bought it for its style, but was very pleasantly surprised by its efficiency. It can preheat to 450 degrees in 6 to 7 minutes. But the surprising things is how incredibly well it holds the heat. The oven is still warm 6 hours after I turn it off. Whoever named that particular model wasn’t kidding.

    Hands down, the absolutely best stove I have ever used!! Wouldn’t hesitate to buy another.
