    The wife and I have been talking about remodeling our master bath. The space is ~8*10 and it seems to be just short in size to put everything we want into.

    From a re-sale perspective what is my best option?

    1. Remodel to include tub, separate shower enclosure, single sink and toilet
    2. Include tub, dual sinks, toilet and no separate shower stall
    3. Include Shower stall, dual sinks, toilet and no tub
    4. Piggs give me a great lay-out idea to include tub, separate shower stall, toilet and dual sinks!

    Of course the wife wants it all but I’m short one foot to make it all fit. Also, we are both on the tall side so we need a 6ft tub which limits our use of space.

    If you have another bathroom with a full tub, I would go with double sinks (very very useful in the morning for a couple and most newer houses have it) and shower stall. If you don’t have another full size tub, I would go with a tub & dual sinks, no separate shower stall.
    But that’s just me…
    I personally think that newer fashion of separate shower stall and tub is a huge waste of real estate and when the house is not huge, I’d rather have that extra space in the MBdr or the walkin closet. One can shower in the tub, or take a bath. No need for both. But for all I know there are plenty of people that enjoy having a separate luxurios bath tub and think it’s worth it; I don’t.

    My personal preference would be you defintely want dual sinks and stall shower which are used everyday. In most (but not all) cases as much as women want a tub, they seem to be used very infrequently.

    Ironically, the hideous 70s sunken tubs come in handy on that kind of remodel. You make it a step down shower, that can double as a tub without putting in a tub.
