25. You know what it means when a girl in a short skirt is walking on El Cajon Blvd.
And you know immediately what it means when (s)he is is thin enough to actually fit the skirt.

January 5, 2011 at 8:57 AM #648047UCGalParticipant#38… my boss fits this.
#47… I rode my bike from Governor Dr to University the day before 805 was opened. I remember 52 going in from 5-805… then extended to Mast years later.
#44 – they forgot the Midway, the Pacific and the Campus drive ins. The campus had a neon cheerleader with spinning baton. We went regularly to drive ins as kids.
#50 – as kids we went to the Hotel Del for Christmas dinner… ferry boat across the harbor. We stopped when they built the bridge.

January 5, 2011 at 9:10 AM #648052jpinpbParticipantI don’t consider myself an old-timer of San Diego. However, I’ve been here a while and since we are reminiscing, can I add a couple of bars to the list?
You remember when In Cahoots used to be Confetti’s (as an added bonus, you remember Sunday nights was Piranha room)
You remember when Rich’s used to be The Metro (as an added bonus, you remember one night a week it was Shards of Glass)
I had to look up what it is today. They’ve changed so many times, but you remember Johnny V used to be Emerald City and before that Mannikin’s.
You remember The Tavern used to be the Daily Planet.
You remember there was a Red Onion in Mission Beach.
I’m sure there’s way more on that list. The way people drink, I’m surprised at the changes. How can you fail if you’re a bar? Maybe they were drinking the profits.
