    San Diego moved up from 4th to 2nd behind NYC on the Harris poll of popular cities.

    Respondents for the 2010 survey were asked “If you could live in or near any city in the country except the one you live in or nearest to now, which city would you choose?”

    I know there are frequent debates on how desirability affects housing prices here, but I thought this was interesting.

    It’s a nice place to hang out, but there aren’t a lot of jobs here. I’ve been here for 3 years now and i still can’t find a job. There are public sector jobs, but it seems like you have to have a relative already in, and the private sector jobs seem to want to pay less every year.

    I’ve thought of moving back to LA, but I don’t want to raise my kids there, it’s too crazy. Every weirdo in the US that wants to be a star and moves out there.

    I don’t know why anyone would want to live in Las Vegas. I worked out there for 6 months for a Casino, and it gets real old after a few days.

    May I ask how do you survive 3 yrs without a job and still maintain to raise a family? It must be difficult.

    I’m employed, just not in San Diego. I work for a services/consulting company, so i get on a plane every Monday morning and come home Thursday night. Been doing it for a decade.

    My company pretty much works for big companies, so no work in SD. Funny thing is that when i was in Los Angeles there was very little work there either since a lot of companies have left for TX and AZ.
