I lived in Oceanside for many years and I like the city, however, I personally would not live in Arrowood. It is very far out from where most people work. In rush hour in the morning and evening, it can easily take over 30min to get to I-5. Oceanside gets a bad rap for gang activity – I think that much of the city is just fine; HOWEVER, the area near Vandegrift and N. River Rd DOES have pretty significant gang activity. To get to Arrowood, you have to drive past that area. I think that the Arrowood development put in large higher-end houses in a place that really doesn’t make sense. Again, I have nothing against Oceanside itself but I would personally look at somewhere other than Arrowood.

Any other community suggestions? We are also starting to look at Carlsbad, but the sq ft and pricing is just not as good, but i guess that has to do with the crime. Are there other communities in Oceanside you would suggest?

I don’t think there’s much else in the way of new construction around Oceanside, and inventory of good resale homes seems kinda low at the moment.
