Seriously, I’d say there’s 3 kinds of people:

Those with
1) positive equity,
2) no equity,
3) negative equity.

Only #1 are true homeowners.
#2 are renters, and maybe a squatter or two.
#3 are those who think they are homeowners, but really the home owns them (i.e. home-owned-ers).
