I very much agree.
But I don’t like the word “luck” as it seems too much like luck falling out of the sky.
I believe that success in life is due to serendipity. Serendipity involves a confluence of events that include good fortune and discovery (due to being born into the right family, smarts, intelligence, cunning, hard work, persistence or simply pure luck), but it is not fate.

Pretty much agree Brian, but every day I thank my “lucky” stars I wasn’t born in Somalia or Iraq or even Tijuana and that I was born with enough talent to earn a decent living.
