I can get 8% taxable equivalent from muni’s…

Can you explain about muni? I’m not familiar but 8% sounds great to me. Consider the online saving accounts now are only around 2-3%. I’m looking to find better place to put my $. Is that 8% after tax? Sounds too good to be true if it’s a safe 8%.
