Its a bank owned property and an offer was already accepted. There were many offers on the property and I beleive it went over $550,000.
How is life in Encinitas treating you? I remember your asking about where they should go to find a decent dettached 1 story affordable property not too far away from you. I’d say your best chances will be 92008, 92010 or 92081. The market for entry level homes in Encinitas/So Carlsbad is brutally challenging right now.

January 14, 2010 at 10:07 PM #502890NicoleParticipantThank you both, I relied on you both heavily for advise when we were deciding to buy against all advise in 2008! I’m really glad we did, money does not rein king in all situations. When I’m holding my son in his nursery, I don’t worry that our home has lost value because it’s just isn’t priority for us now. We stayed within our means and are happy and comfortable.
I figured that this property created a circus either that or there was something really wrong with the foundation or something…
I’ll keep my eye on the zip codes you mentioned. I’m waiting to plan baby #2 for the in-laws to relocate. They’re planning to move from Ohio, so it is going to be a big challenge financially and I really don’t want them to stretch themselves. We’ve talked about doing something together, we’ll see how it goes. But hearing how things are on the market makes me want to encourage them to rent. That’s difficult because mid-westerns just cringe at the idea of renting.
Thanks again!
