The coolest feature is that you can use your google voice number as a proxy to other phones…which allows you to easily block unwanted callers and send them to /dev/null.
I really wish I’d had this before I gave my cell phone number to the crappy and shady home improvement company who’s telemarketers call me almost non-stop.

October 19, 2009 at 12:24 PM #471407briansd1GuestGOOG-411 is also a great service.
No need to use 411 from your cell phone and pay the carrier.
On your cell phone, just dial 800-GOOG-411. It just costs you some minutes out of your allocated monthly bucket. Of course, that works on the home phone as well.
I noticed that women are very impulsive about the use of 411. When they need some info, they will forget about the very high cost of directory assistance.

Also, the voice mail to text works surprisingly well. I usually can figure out what the message is without having to listen to it.
