Two weeks ago I had the second tooth from the back on the upper right of my mouth extracted, and a bone graft was performed at that time. The procedure required a scalpel as well as the gripping and prying tools, and some suturing afterward. How long will it be before I can practice my saxophones, flute and harmonica, without threatening the bone graft? Also, after two weeks, I’m still feeling some soreness in that area, mostly when eating and some bit of food happens to touch the area where the extraction was. Is that appropriate? My oral surgeon saw me last wednesday (one week after the surgery) and said that the healing was, so far, “awesome”. How long will it take to heal? How long until I can practice my instruments?
