Well Fellow Piggs, I just jumped back into the housing market with feet first and eyes wide open.
After some tough negotiation and playing some hardball with the seller, I got a decent price and locked in near historic lows on 30 yr fixed conforming mortgage in a SFH in South Carlsbad. Kudos to my wife who wasn’t too happy renting last few years, plus we were getting a bit concerned about the financial situation of our landlord. We also just wanted to get a bit more settled with the kiddos.
Yes, Yes, it is very likely the housing bottom is still a while off. I do believe housing pricing will likely continue to decline thru 2011, there will be continued Alt-A/Option ARM resets the next few years along with significant inventory overhang
Here’s some of my posts on how my thinking has evolved over the last few years. This “mother of all bubbles” and its impact on our economy and society has been enormous. Wall Street has been transformed and our economy has nearly (and still may) collapse. It has been interesting discussing it with you all. I have learned alot from you Piggs, a lively and interesting crowd, to say the least!
