I know some people in law enforcement. If you’re in the way and not yielding, this is a no-brainer. Get the hell out of the way. You’re actually delaying them from doing their job, in effect.
Most of the time, unless they are actual traffic enforcement, cops pull you over for other reasons, like making sure you’re not DUI or suspicion of other crime, stolen vehicle, etc.
But if it really was traffic cop, that’s their job exclusively, to ticket violators. Sucks.

I haven’t been caught because I was lucky and noticed the trend. I think with the budget in California in such bad shape the Swine are trying to make sure they look useful and income generating. I say start paying all law enforcement minimum wage and I mean federal minimum wage not CA minimum wage. F’ the police! Serve and protect more like harass and persecute.

January 22, 2009 at 10:43 PM #333776jpinpbParticipantMotorcycle cops’ sole job is to write tickets. Get pulled over by them and it’s a guaranteed ticket. Sucks for sure. But they’re just doing their job, just like you go to work and do your job. Unfair to make the characterization that they’re all there to harass and persecute. You know when there’s trouble and you need help, then who do you call? 911. Some cops are out there to protect and serve.
Gosh, I never thought I’d defend them. I’ve had my share of tickets and it’s a major bummer. But then I think of all the times I rolled through a stop sign or sped through the streets and highways. If a cop were following me every day, I’d probably have my license revoked by now.
I figure when I do get a ticket, I deserve it.
