    I’ve seen it written a few times that this is the first time U.S. median housing prices are down.

    Obviously, unless I’m missing something this is false. Everyone rememebers the drop in prices from the early to mid nineties as well as drops in the seventies and eighties. According to this chart there have been housing bubbles every few years since they started keeping track of this type of thing- so what are they talking about when they say that this has never happened?

    It’s a Government report that is predicting a fall.

    Apparently they can’t find a way to maipulate this data. Even the NAR gave up on that.

    I think that all of the other slides were regional, not a nationwide decline.
