    I keep getting messages on my answering machine from some knucklehead who claims to be “Kevin Clarkson from the loan modification department”, saying in somber and official tones that they can “modify our loan terms” so that they can “reduce your loan payments and loan balance without having to refinance.” “He” then gives you a 1-800 number to call.

    Well, I’m here to say the whole thing is not only total B.S., it’s also got to be a scam to fleece yet more $$ off desperate homeloaners who are about to get foreclosed upon. How do I know it’s a scam?

    Well, I have never had a mortgage in my life. In fact, I am currently renting two rooms in a house! This is obviously phone spam.

    Others have been getting calls from this outfit, too. They’ve been reported on 800Notes, on another page as having used a (603) number, and also on EveryCall , calling people in Florida!

    I wonder if the FBI knows about these guys.

    If your number is registered on the federal do not call list, you can go after these people for monetary damages or put them out of business.

    I’m sure it is more than one guy.

    Modifications are feeding off of desperate people who want to believe that they can be saved.
    Perhaps they should try going to church instead ??

    On the CA attorney general website there used to be a place for DO NOT CALL complaints, and they do follow up.

    I constantly get calls with a recorded message that claim they can lower your credit card interest., which I don’t have.

    I tried to play their game, but they wouldn’t tell me who they were unless I gave them permission to run my credit report.

    No shortage of scams out there… HLS
