    This is a public service announcement.

    Your property taxes are due 12/10, right around the time of holiday shopping……unless you opt to default like my neighbor.

    Ho ho ho…

    Just got off the phone with a friend who said they will not be able to pay their property tax bill this year.

    She’s very conscientious, and has never defaulted on anything, but said things have really hit the fan the past couple of months (including a layoff).

    Just think…none of this ever had to happen in the first place. Instead of allowing the economy to bottom after the dot com crash, they tried to artificially stimulate the economy via a credit/housing bubble.

    Still, nobody in power is properly defining the problem, so they will not be able to define the solution. More money down the drain, and they will prolong the recession/depression as a result. Just lovely…

    My owner, I am leasing, has informed me that he informed his lender that he will no longer pay any payments. If he ends up also not paying the taxes and if I purchase on short sale, will I be liable for the taxes?

    I always wait until the absolute last minute. No sense giving the gubment their money one second sooner than necessary.

    Oh, and I already have the money tucked away in my escrow account just waiting to cut the check….
