ParticipantI guess he did not read any U.S. history regarding raising taxes during an economic down turn. Maybe he should study Hoover’s administration. Obama will be a trustee in bankruptcy. So will the Governor. Shutting down the engine that drives the economy by raising taxes whether is it on a category they label “rich” is going to drive the economy into the ground.

[/quote]WHY? I am not saying he is wrong, I am asking why we cant cut the budget anymore. I am sure there are lots of people out there who ‘NEED’ all kinds of stuff who are now cutting back. The most obvious example being gasoline. People screamed bloody murder that their gas tankfulls were expensive. Then, they cut back. Demand fell, and some of the expectations of future demand that were driving the prices up so much also fell. Somehow people seemed to get along with less driving.
That is just an example. I am not saying that cutting driving didnt hurt, or was a happy choice, but it was a choice that had to be made. So again I ask: “Why cant they cut more?”

ParticipantThe thing that irks me the most is that when they passed the current budget, it was total BS. I don’t recall the links now but my wife kept sending all kinds of information on how much of a clusterf– it was. There was no way in the world the budget was based on reality.
