Fannie and Freddie ~ $5 trillion
AIG ~ $125 billion and growing
No Banker Left Behind ~ rolling $700 billion
Direct Reflation to the Banks ~ $250 billion which equals $2.5 trillion in lending power
It’s hard to say whether the Fed and the Federal Home Loan Banks will get back all the money they’ve lent out, but I’ll leave this part at $0 for now.
Bailout of FDIC and FHA ~ unknown at this time
Adding all that up, the bailout has totaled (drum roll please) ~ $8.355 trillion
I believe there is also another $250 billion bubble reflation injection slated to go to regional banks which I forgot about. If that’s the case, that would bring the total to $10.855 trillion.
