    I know a lot of people on this forum were pretty unhappy about the government’s bailout bill, and swore they would do whatever they could to vote out any politician who voted for the bill. (Myself include) The flip side of this, is that you probably want to vote for any politician that voted against the bailout.

    Well, today the Union Tribune has an article about the 50th congressional district race between Brian Bilbray and Nick Leibham. In the article Leibhamm attacks Bilbray for his vote against the bailout.

    If you live in the 50th congressional district, (and probably a lot of you do) I recommend you take a look at the remarks of Bilbray and the remarks of Leibham. Their positions are pretty opposite on the bailout issue and for many of us on this board, that’s a key issue.

    I’ve calmed down some. I will not vote against someone just because they voted for the bailout. I will, however, do my best to vote out anyone in the pockets of the corporations or banks that got us into this mess to begin with. I will take the time to do a little research before I make a rash decision. A simple vote for the bailout, although misguided, doesn’t necessarily mean you are a bad politician, but probably scared from the doom and gloom forecasts from Paulson inc. If, however, it turns out you stood to gain from voting for it in a more direct manner, you deserve to lose.
