    With the headlines being monopolized by the approaching elections and bailout, this seems to be going unnoticed.

    At least, I didn’t know about it until I read this article. I wonder why this is happening?

    The storm shut down production of 9 oil platforms for 9 days.

    We have no slack in our system for storage of refined products. They are saying it will take another two weeks to get things normalized.

    I live in the “Upstate” of South Carolina and only 15 miles from the North Carolina border. We have only had a few stations that have run short of gas (an only for a short time, when they do) while Asheville, (which is only 50 miles away) and Charlotte, (which is 90 miles away) are having major problems with fuel shortages. I don’t understand it either.

    It’s a way to create fear.

    People feel really afraid when all of a sudden they can not get what it is that they are used to having regular access to.
