    so as i discussed in Selling my house parts 1 and 2

    So I put the place up on the market last week of July,
    traffic collapsed first week of august, and while i was getting some
    calls i wasn’t getting a lot of traffic.

    Based upon advice from the piggingtonians i gave it 2 months, didn’t
    get any solid offers and lowered the price, it was at 299K
    I lowered it today to 269K 10% to see if the price would help.

    I also had a home inspector run the punch list to identify any issues
    that’s almost all the issues with the house, so i’ve still got a few things to
    fix but it’s rapidly getting cleared up.

    i was wondering if i should start holding open houses and running
    ads in the local paper, i figure most real estate searches now go into
    the internet.

    So should i hold some open houses?

    You could try the same approach as this guy if you don’t get any bites:

    This place was listed for quite awhile. Then taken off the mls(or sdlookup, anyway). Then immediately relisted. It is in a complex I like, so I noticed the history. It makes me wonder what kind of trouble he is in to go to this length to try to get some cash.

    Obviously I don’t seriously think this is a good option. This arrangement looks like a liability and legal nightmare.
