I am curious what people who are negative on bailouts (and reference the S&L crisis) think about a candidate who was a central government figure during the Lincoln Savings debacle and Charles Keating.

He was not arrested or censured but McCain was a big part of the scenery.

I am not looking for a polemic and an argument about who is a better candidate.

I am starting this to actually get some discussion going with regard to reconciling that feature of his history.

Is it something that even comes up on the radar?
