    Has anyone ever ordered carpet (installed) from HD or Lowe’s?

    I’m looking at a fairly high end Shaw carpet (frieze style)and prices between Costco and HD are close.

    I’ve heard that the HD experience truly depends on the contractor they send out. Have also heard that HD tends to “nickel and dime” with charges.

    Any thoughts?

    If anyone can recommend a great carpet source in the Temecula area, please do….

    4 years ago my inlaws ordered carpet from the Home Depot in Murrieta. The contractor did a pretty bad job, even cutting it wrong and being short a piece in the Master Bed closet. Sorry I can’t help recommend a different place, but probably wouldn’t go through HD.

    i don’t think HD selects contractors with much care,
    they put a lot of margin in and lowball the workers.

    far better to buy the carpet and look around for a carpet installer

    a good carpet guy can do a whole house in an afternoon
    if you help
