As some of you may know, I have a vintage Vespa I used for little jaunts, errands and on weekends. On one of the gas threads I mentioned how I was in the Motorsport for a part for my Vespa a couple of weeks ago. They usually have a store full of Kymcos and Buddy scooters. They only had 3 left.

I went there today. The showroom was completely empty. They have an interest list forming and if you put $500 down you are guaranteed one as soon as they come in, anywhere from 1 to 6 months. They’re backed up on orders. They can’t keep up w/demand.

They’re going to be on the news this evening (6/10/08). They called and wanted to set up an interview w/them about sales.

The Vespa dealership in Hillcrest still have Vespas for sale, but at much higher price. Motorsport scooters start at about 2500 out the door and get about 90 to 100 mpg.
